The Salvation Army works every day to make life better for countless people in our community. Your gift can enable us to provide food for the hungry, emergency services for families and individuals in need, and opportunities for underprivileged children, adults, and senior citizens. For every dollar donated to The Salvation Army, 82 cents is used to support these services in our community.

The iconic Red Kettle Campaign funds so much more than just gifts at Christmas for children in need; it also helps The Salvation Army provide programs and services throughout the year.  This annual holiday campaign has been one of the most recognizable fundraising activities of The Salvation Army for over a hundred years.  You can find our Red Kettles in locations throughout Hampton Roads during the Christmas holiday season. For more information, click here.

If you or your organization would like to join us as bell ringers, please complete the Contact Us form online, call or visit one of our Corps centers, or contact Jim Colston at

Your individual donations to The Salvation Army help us serve the most vulnerable members of our community.  Donations made online are routed to your local Salvation Army based on the zip code you enter.  Checks can be mailed to The Salvation Army of the Virginia Peninsula, 1033 Big Bethel Road, Hampton, Virginia 23666-1903.

A hometown endowment is a perpetual gift that can be designated for your hometown Salvation Army Corps or a specific program. The original gift remains intact, and the income is used toward the designated area of service. An endowment can be established in memory of a loved one, or a donation can be added to an existing fund that will contribute to your local community indefinitely.

Annual gifts of stocks, bonds, mutual funds and other tangible assets not only support your community in meaningful ways, but can result in tax savings and financial advantages to you.

When you include The Salvation Army of the Virginia Peninsula in your legacy planning, your assets can be used to help you, your family, and countless other people in need who live in your community.
