Richmond Delivers Merry Memories to More than 4,200 Lives This Holiday Season

The holidays are a magical time of year when generosity abounds, and opportunities of #doingthemostgood are plentiful. As we step into 2023 with excitement and hope, we take a moment to share our gratitude for a community dedicated to offering time, lending a hand, or sharing the wealth in places of need. Our community’s outpouring of #lovebeyond our own four walls further underscores how caring the Greater Richmond Area truly is. Thank you to our incredible community partners, donors, volunteers, and supporters for lighting the holiday spirit and for another tremendous Angel Tree and Christmas season.

Because of you, more than 4,200 individuals had stockings to hang, Christmas gifts to open, and warm winter coats to outfit their entire households. We also appreciate the 1,200 volunteers who helped facilitate 1,800 appointments, ensuring parents and caregivers had a positive and efficient hopping experience at the Christmas Center.

Last year, Central Virginia Area Command provided social services more than 7,600 people, awarded $1.5 M in financial assistance, and provided 12,000 nights of shelter for families and individuals. Funds raised through your support of the Red Kettles will directly impact our programs and services and changes lives throughout Central Virginia 365 days a year.

We invite you to explore or revisit how you—a community of givers and doers—embodied the holiday spirit and made a difference in thousands of lives this holiday season. Check out the 2022 Christmas Highlights Album on our Facebook page. Tag your group or share to your page so we can continue thanking you for your support!

The Salvation Army Central Virginia Area Command thanks you for your support and service to our shared community. We are #BetterTogether.

Not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.
