The saga of an anonymous donation of a $1,000 bill to the local Salvation Army every year for four decades sounds like something from Hollywood. But the tale is true, and has happened in Morgantown every year since 1978.
In 2021, the plot took an unexpected twist, as the $1,000 bill was not delivered until Thursday, two days before Christmas — the latest it had ever been. The 2020 donation date was Dec. 19, at that time the latest. more
